The restaurant is located at Gamla torget 4 in central Uppsala, near the River Fyris and with a view of Uppsala Cathedral. Here we serve fresh pasta, stone-baked pizza and Italian classics for family celebrations, surprise dinners, student groups and milestone birthdays.

For smaller parties, you can book a standard table indoors or on the outdoor terrace online. If you have more than eight guests, wish to seat a larger party together on the outdoor terrace, or enquire about an exclusive booking of the entire restaurant, please send a separate booking enquiry.

The booking option that suits you best depends on how many of you there are, when you'd like to visit, and whether you'd prefer to sit indoors or on the outdoor terrace.

Standard table – up to 8 guests

For groups of up to eight guests, you can book a standard table directly online. You'll order from our regular menu and sit in the restaurant's open dining room or on the outdoor terrace, depending on what you select when booking and what's available.

If there are exactly eight of you, you can book online, but meals usually need to be pre-ordered at least 48 hours before your visit. Please contact the restaurant after booking to receive the current menu and instructions.

Larger parties – up to approximately 65 seated guests

If there are more than eight of you, please make your booking by sending a separate enquiry to the restaurant.

We can accommodate larger parties of up to approximately 65 seated guests indoors, depending on the table layout and your preferred arrangement. We'll help you with seating arrangements, the group menu and practical planning for your celebration.

Please state your preferred date and time, the approximate number of guests, and any allergies or other dietary requirements in your initial enquiry.

During the outdoor dining season, smaller parties can book a standard outdoor table via our online booking system. Larger parties wishing to sit together should submit a separate booking enquiry.

The outdoor dining area is situated by Gamla torget with a view of Uppsala Cathedral and can be heated if required. The availability of outdoor seating for larger parties depends on the season, weather and number of guests.

The capacity of the outdoor seating area is separate from the restaurant's indoor capacity. A group enquiry does not mean that the entire outdoor seating area is reserved exclusively, unless this has been expressly agreed and confirmed.

Enquiry regarding exclusive booking

In certain cases, it may be possible to book the entire Ristorante Villa Romana Uppsala exclusively for a private birthday celebration.

Availability and terms and conditions depend on the date, time and number of guests. We will draw up a personalised proposal based on the menu, duration of the event and any other requirements.

Any deposit and other payment terms will be specified in the quotation and booking confirmation. The booking is only confirmed once you have received written confirmation and the specified conditions have been met.

Milestone birthdays

Are you planning a milestone birthday or a major anniversary? Depending on the size of your party, you can book a standard table, submit a group enquiry or ask about the possibility of booking the whole restaurant.

We'll help you find a set-up that feels festive, personal and relaxed.

Birthday with the family

Villa Romana is ideal for family celebrations involving several generations. Its central location by Gamla torget makes it easy for guests to reach the restaurant from different parts of Uppsala.

Please let us know if children will be joining you, if you need a high chair, or if anyone in your party has any other practical requirements, and we'll confirm what's possible for your booking.

Birthday with your student friends

Uppsala is a university town, and we're delighted to welcome groups of students who want to celebrate a birthday over a meal together.

For larger student groups, we can help with a group menu, seating arrangements and a set-up suited to the size of your party. Send us an enquiry with the date, number of guests and any specific requests, and we'll get back to you with suitable options.

Surprise dinner

Are you planning to surprise a partner, friend or family member? Please let us know about your plans in your booking enquiry.

We can then discuss the guests' arrival, seating arrangements and other practical details. What's possible depends on the size of the booking, the table's location and the restaurant's other commitments on the day in question.

Book a standard table online if you are a group of up to eight guests and wish to order from the regular menu.

Smaller groups can also book a standard table on the outdoor terrace online during the season, subject to availability.

Send a booking enquiry if there are more than eight of you, if you'd like a group menu for a larger party, if you'd like to seat a larger group together on the outdoor terrace, or if you'd like to enquire about an exclusive booking.

Please specify your preferred date and time, the approximate number of guests, and which booking option you're interested in.

Please also let us know about any allergies, other dietary requirements, cake, decorations and any other practical requests.

Confirm the menu and booking

We'll get back to you with details of availability, the menu, seating times and the terms and conditions applicable to your party.

If there are exactly eight guests, meals must normally be pre-ordered at least 48 hours before your visit.

For a pre-ordered group menu, the final menu and details of any allergies or other dietary requirements must normally be provided at least 48 hours before your visit.

Submitting an enquiry does not automatically constitute a confirmed booking. The booking is only confirmed once the restaurant has sent a written booking confirmation and any payment terms have been met.
